TNBFC, Tell Jane, Access VFX, and On Air will join ¡AU! Diversity & Excellence Summit

¡AU! is delighted to welcome top media industry orgs that are promoting and protecting new talent to our April 28 online Diversity & Excellence Summit II, “The DEI the Earth Stood Still”. The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) is onboard as a content partner, and the event will feature speakers from Access VFX, Tell Jane, and the Media Talent Manifesto’s On Air project.

The New Black Film Collective works to cultivate a vibrant Black ecosystem in the UK screen industries by championing Black-led film and TV production, distribution, and exhibition. TNBFC offers peer-to-peer networking, support, skills development, and raising awareness for Black-led film.

TNB XPO is the organization’s annual London conference, running in the spring. The event attracts over 300 Black creatives and many hundreds more online. Dates for this year’s TNB XPO will be announces shortly. Get more info here.

Simon Devereux, founder of Access VFX and Director of Global Talent at Framestore, will join the Summit to discuss opportunities for mentoring and being mentored in visual effects and animation. Access VFX is a global, industry-led, non-profit supported by 70 leading studios, industry bodies, and educational establishments in the visual effects and animation industries.

Lisa Bell, CEO of Tell Jane, will present practical approaches for championing inclusion and equity issues in environments and workplaces that may still be hostile to new ideas. Tell Jane is a leading HR consultancy that helps businesses confront and prevent issues of harassment, discrimination and bullying.

The Media Talent Manifesto works with young people and under-represented talent to build skills and create opportunity. MTM will give a briefing on its 24 hour student-run global broadcast On Air, which ran in October of last year and will return again this autumn.
